Introduction: For decades, arbitration has been a preferred means for settling cross-border
business and investment disputes. Given its inter-, trans-, and to some extent
a-national character, there has been a natural and mostly positive trend toward
harmonization in the ways arbitration is practiced and in the laws that support
the international arbitration system.
