Abstract: This short chapter proposes a framework for addressing AI governance that focusses on the role of the human-in-the-loop throughout the AI development and implementation process. This has been developed further and adopted in the 2020 Top 10 SSRN ranked paper across multiple legal, financial and computing segments entitled "Artificial Intelligence in Finance: Putting the Human-In-The-Loop" ( https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=3531711 ) that has been accepted for publication in a peer reviewed A* (top 5%) law journal, and forms the basis of a joint submission with Fintech Association of Hong Kong regarding the International Organisation of Securities Commissions consultation paper on the use of AI and machine learning by market intermediaries and asset managers ( https://ftahk.org/publication/ftahk-and-lite-labhku-joint-response-iosco-consultation )
